Terms of Service

These plain-language terms govern your use of FlowTutor — the browser extension, the desktop helper, and the backend. By installing or using FlowTutor, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

The service

FlowTutor explains code as your AI tools generate it, in a sidebar or live viewer. It is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. Explanations are generated by AI and may be incomplete or incorrect — use them as a learning aid, not as authoritative or production guidance. We are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the service, to the extent permitted by law. We may change, suspend, or discontinue features (including the free tier and its limits) at any time.

Free tier

The free tier allows a limited number of explanations per day per install. The limit may change. It exists to keep the hosted service sustainable.

Credits

• Credits are prepaid digital goods. One explanation consumes one credit.
• Purchases are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by applicable law.
• Credits have no cash value and are tied to your account.

Bring Your Own Key (BYOK)

• The one-time BYOK unlock enables you to use your own provider API key for direct calls to that provider.
• BYOK is self-funded: you pay your provider (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI) directly, according to their pricing and terms. FlowTutor does not bill for BYOK usage and does not see or handle your key beyond storing it locally on your device.
• You are responsible for keeping your key secure and for all usage and charges incurred on it.

Acceptable use

Don't abuse the service: no attempts to circumvent rate limits or billing, overload the backend, inflate others' costs, or use the service unlawfully. We may suspend or terminate accounts engaged in abuse.

Privacy

Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Disclosure. Payments are processed by Stripe; your card details never reach our servers.
